Primary Care Physicians are medical doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are trained to provide health maintenance and treat various health problems. Most people see their primary care provider for a yearly physical and as needed for various health conditions. These providers order mammograms and conduct the clinical breast exam. If you have a specific breast problem, he/she may refer you to a specialist such as a surgeon or radiologist for further evaluation. The PBC works with all Hartford Hospital affiliated providers including those at Connecticut Multispeciality Group , Hartford Medical Group and ProHealth Physcians.
