Current Breast Care Trials at HH

All clinical trials at Hartford Hospital undergo a strict and detailed review by the Research Committee and the Institutional Review Committee (IRC). The committees are made up of doctors, health care providers, lay persons, and community members. The purpose of the committees is to review a research study for scientific integrity and patient safety. All patients who decide to enroll in a clinical trial must sign an informed consent form, which states the risks, the benefits and the treatment options available to them. Clinical trials help physicians and nurses determine the effectiveness of treatments for patient care by looking at the outcomes of the trials.

Hartford Hospital currently participates in several cooperative group cancer clinical trials which include the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast & Bowel Project (NSABP), Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB, a Hartford Hospital and Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare affiliation). In addition, Hartford Hospital also has a variety of industry sponsored clinical trials.

Listed to the left are all breast related clinical trials that are open at Hartford Hospital.
